Htattoo- I have not used this product - But I do have good knowledge of finish materials - and when applying a finish to a tattoo machine the question is how well will the finish hold up to the tubes sliding through the vise-and any chemicals that maybe used to wipe the machine down . I checked out the product on the manufactures web site and it looks promising , as long as all the prep is done corectly - and when you spray the permamlac coat it several times . and since they tested it with alcohol and gasoline wipe down tests and it passed it seems strong , much better than renwax which IMO is a good product also .Note: In some instances, for example on hot and humid days, the fast drying PERMALAC can trap moisture underneath the seal. This trapped moisture will manifest itself as a "cloudy" coating. Such cloudy coatings can be prevented by the addition of the slow drying #69 thinner, or an even slower #500 slow-dry thinner.

I wanted to add that ( note : ) about humid enviroments - I have lived near the beach and have had days when the heat/ humidity was high and coating a projekt was not an option . to achive gold with this product just be sure to prep and re-prep . I have a frame that needs coating and I think I will check this stuff out.

okay...this is a bit similar, but a bit off topic. i don't want to change the thread too much...but does anyone use clippercide on there machines?

http://www.barbicide.com/clippercide.html

i'm in a much more humid environment now and am finding that rust is more prevalent here after wiping down my machines. it has the kill rank i'm looking for, but don't know if it's enough of an oil to protect the metal or if it will disrupt any of the insulation or electrical? so far i can't find it in aussieland...but it seems to easily accessible in north america.

chris- I checked out that clipperside and IMO if you sprayed that product on a paper towl then wiped down your machines that product would be the best way to sanitize tattoo machines - according to the text clipperside will sanitize-and oil clipper blades - which are made out of stainless - I did not see a distribution list - other that contacting them directly- but while I have seen barbicide at haircut stores I never thought to check out, and as far I go that clippercide will addresse alot of issues with keeping a tattoo machine frames as clean they could and should be .

I use Hydracride and its great... Tupperware container gets all my SS grips and soak until im ready to scrub and clave... Madacide FD on my steel, oiled machines as well as my FK aluminums...Do not use the Madacide 1 on steel as it contains alocohol and can corrode it..
