crtical wireless foot switch

Posted by shadow on 09/20/10

Has anyone tried out these wireless footswitches? Seems kinda cool, except for the $200 part and not having your power supply for a week. I have the cx2 and I guess if you send it back to em they install the adaptor part inside the unit so you don't have to plug anything in. Just wanted to hear if anyone's tried it and how its working out.

i gotta say, it sounds really cool. im not a fan of wires in general, even with things like my computer, speakers, and other electical appliannces i like them to either be wireless, or i like the wires tucked neatley out of site with those electrical staples and those things you can use to feed wires through after you cut a hole into a desk or something ( i cant think of what theyre called)

but, i also have to ask myself, have i ever really had a problem with my footswitch? having my workstation on wheels, i personally havent had one.

also, does having something installed into your power supply make you dependent on that one footswitch? like if the footswitch shits out for whatever reason can you just buy another footswitch for the same adaptor or do you have to send the power supply back all over again?

either way, i like the idea. maybe after a while when theyve "got it down" so to speak, i could see it becoming a normal thing to buy.

haha also, another thing to consider... remember when cordless phones came out? i do, i also remember take the couch apart daily trying to find it.

im not totally comparing that to a wireless footswitch but you get what im saying. lol.

Yeah I've seen the mojo ones. Cool, but look about the size of a wah pedal for guitar. But yeah, even though they install it inside it still has the quarter inch hook up for a wired one. You can also just not send it in and order it with an external receiver that you plug in. If I did get it I could see throwing a plastic bag over it so as everything clean when travelling. I don't know, not a necessity right now. Might wait a bit to see how it is.

I just got my Rebuilt Cx-2r....so far the cordless pedal works great! Clean, simple, and the option of using a clip cord (to run it with a cord) is genius ( I can also use it with my CX-1). Also in case anybody was wondering BOTH the CX-1&2 run a stigma hyper! I strongly recommend Critical products...and I have nothing to gain by saying so!

Yeah, ive got one, really impressed, spent my life running over the footpedal cable with my chair, no problems any more. winner. Been running it for about two weeks now and havnt had any issues. the main thing as well is it gives a very clean look to the work station. Just my 10 cents.

I have one and I love it. Just got it a few weeks ago though, so far so good. They supposedly worked out a few kinks since the release of their first wireless pedals (battery running out quickly, and using several in close proximity is no longer an issue). Much easier to keep the clipcord from getting run over by the chair than the foot pedal cord. Brilliant! Aside from the price there's no reason not to use one in my opinion, and that's not even a good excuse. Do a couple extra tattoos this week - poof! - it's paid for.

you know i was curious about the critical foot pedal as well, whenever i see ads of it, it has the transmitter that plugs into the power supply, but i also see what seems to be some kind of power source cord aside in the picture next to the pedal, does the pedal itself need a power source and need to be plugged in, if so wouldnt this defeat the purpose?, i mean sure the cord would go to the power supply, but you would have a wire from the pedal to an outlet, i may be way off, but if anyone knoes what im saying here let me know whats up
