Well, you can buy their stuff from Tatsoul ,and other places as well. So I am not sure if they personally are selling to that type, but it is possible...

It's no different than when the retarded juggalo down the road from me has the same killer strain of blueberry kush that I have. The guy that I get my herb from has the same responsible attitude towards not selling to douchebag fuckwads who will represent his product poorly that Eikon has with their fine products. Unfortunately, not all of his customers share such noble aspirations, and someone will inevitably buy some in bulk, and resell it to whomever is willing to pay the mark-up on it. Hence, the mouthbreather with the fauxhawk and the hatchetman logo emblazoned on his flabby fuckin' throat has the same kind of great weed that I have, and the hep-vendor down the road from you has the same quality gear that you do. Both will ignorantly go about their days ruining peoples lives while using these respective products and making us all look bad in the process. But I dont blame my pot dealer at all, nor should you blame Eikon right away. This is just the downside of the free market dude. It's also how we got drunk while in high school. Eventually, somewhere within even the most regulated of supply chains, there is generally a weak link or two that can be exploited to circumvent the rules.

Chances are, someone put some gear up on ebay, and your local scab master used a stolen credit card to purchase it. Or perhaps the assclown just stole it outright from a legitimate studio. Maybe it is just a cheap Chinese knock-off. Point is, there are a litany of ways that he could have fallen into possession of it that dont involve Eikon breaking their code of professionalism.

There was a post on here just a few days ago from some dipshit nitwit who was seeking advice on how to set up a home scratcher den, and didnt even know the difference between an ultra sonic cleaner and an autoclave. Yet he had an FK Irons machine, despite Gaston's strict policy on selling to professionals only. The cat is out of the bag man. The unfortunate truth is that once you put something out there for public consumption, it can be resold, bartered, traded, stolen, or passed down, completely out of your control.

^^ Genius response, man. I moved to the other side the world halfway through my apprenticeship. I had no portfolio, but I had an EMS-200 and a pair of Sharpz!

that is a great response, never looked at it that way,it just really bugs the shit outa me,when i work so hard and long hours to produce quality work and to see this type taking business from me and charging the same prices and yet people still go there......i had a client of mine tell me she seen him take a tube out of an ultrasonic full of black water, rinse it and set up,i mean come on right..

black water? thats fucking sick......but in the end it is the general publics fault for going to these idiots, all we can do is let them know what to look for. when i set up my station, i explain everything as far as sterilization, and tell them that if anybody refuses to let them watch while they set up, or if they aren't taking their shit out of sterile packages, to run the fuck away!!! but people have to have some sort of common sense, and some just don't.

a few thoughts... you'll never solve a problem through legislation or regulation, only education. that said, of course those businesses who are responsible with their trade will benefit from it more in the long run.

If your focused on who's behind you, you arent focused enough on how to get ahead. That is, what are you getting artistically or work ethically about worrying who eikon is selling to? I guess I do say we vote everyday with our money, and I only want to support businesses whos ethics I support, so I get it... but I do try to spend time focused on moving forward, not worrying whats happening behind (though of course I want to be conscience of as much as possible...)

that is, I dont feel that the bottom takes away from my businesses one bit. Im not in the business of attracting uneducated tattoo clients looking for a deal, Im in the business of attracting (and educating) smart tattoo clients.

I do know that regardless of whos right or wrong, starting witchhunts and pig piles always results in push back. Only thing I would advise, if your going to start sicking the dogs on folks, you better have your own shit tight. you know, the higher the pedestal, the farther the fall.

I dont mean to hinder any discussion, I do love to talk me some smack every now and then... heh.

Haha FK guns...score an apprenticeship my man. That's the only way you are going to learn the craft. Picking up little things here and there on a message board isn't going to do anything for you. Nothing in life is free.....earn it.

Oh, Kitchen Megician you ol' whip. That's some funny shit dude. "Ultimate tat art". Good stuff man! I know funny, and you sir, have the funny in spades.
Good thing Greg Giraldo just left you an open spot in the comedy world huh. It's yours for the taking funny man.

Anywho, you just keep on working your "megic" on people, whatever that is. Have at it buddy, rock on wit yo bad self while you create that "ultimate tat art" of yours. Maybe you and brian can join forces and show us all a few "megic" tricks. Maybe put out a dvd or do some seminars to show us how to spread easily preventable communicable diseases in 3 easy steps. Learn us good master sir.

will for one i would not buy from eikon Canadian junk .will i have tattooed for 17 years. i have to tell you if its was not for the stretcher or all the kitchen magicians out there we would lose money and "WHY" because about almost 25 to 50%of the time i fix up bad work so it money in a pocket to pay the bills.and a mouth to feed.and yes i have started out was a stretcher for two year's and i got a " APPRENTICESHIP" and at the time not to many shop would take guys for training lot where asshole at the time and i am seeing it again now days . if you have to be good buddies or if you a hot looking bitch only can draw star's and gay stick figures just to look at the lady ass all day long .and i have notice a lot of favoritism in the tattoo business now days. and some these poor kid's are good artist but some of you asshole out there will not give them a time of day that why you will see more and more kids are stretching . but i would want the kids to learn the right way and get apprenticeship but more shop should be hiring more .it should not be base on this favoritism .

i think any 'poor kid' who shows artistic skill and determination will get a fair chance in this industry.
most people lack these aspects thats why they're not given a chance.
the thing with scratchers (not stretchers) is they most likely do not know how to keep from cross contaminating or how to properly sterilize. thats when it gets dangerous.

Holy shit, epicdermis, thank you. Both those posts had me pissin my pants. All of it, beautifull. Hey, kitchen wizard, what size bullets does that fk gun shoot? Didn't yours come with the secret codex manual like mine did? Here's a clue: tattoo machines do not fire projectiles (and if they do, then they're seriously fucked up) therefore they do not fall into the category of a gun. They don't resemble a gun, really, in any way other than you hold it in your hand, so in your situation it might be more accurate to refer to it as a dick, which ill assume you're also holding in your hand.

Sorry, in my attempt to be clever I turned into an asshole. Seems to happen every time I hear the phrase "tat gun". Just triggers something with me. Hey, guns have triggers, right?

You know, Ive gotta say one more thing regarding "pros not sharing the teachings". Who the hell do you think you are, really? No one gave me a damn thing in this world I chose to be a part of that I didn't have to search and search and beg to learn. And this was pre-seminar-era, 2, maybe 3 o.k. tattoo mags in publication, and the only book out at the time was Huck Spaulding's (I know there were a couple more, but I'm making a point). You wanna know the big secret? Become an amazing artist, whatever that means to you. I mean, really, I fucking wish I could have just ordered up Guy Aitchison's books when I started. But they didn't exist yet. There's so much information out now that a lot of clients know as much if not more about tattooing than some tattoo artists. It would take 5 minutes to do all the research to find out the difference between an ultrasonic and an autoclave. But if you don't have 5 minutes for that, then I doubt you have 5 minutes to even sit and learn if someone were willing to take the time to show you what they've busted their ass to learn. So, what I'm gettin at is, have you really gone to professional artists and asked them honestly to teach you? Or were you just getting stoned watching L.A. Ink and said "I wanna try that"? p.s. Please google "bloodborne pathogens" and "cross contamination" before you give all your friends hepatitis. That's no joke, man. You can call me a dick or whatever, but you aint gonna be too popular your own self if someones arm requires amputation cause of a tattoo you did.

I agree with shadow completly there's more then enough info out there just gotta look for it most people are to lazy to learn the right way how many times has a shop took on a apprentice and they didn't stick around I think that has a little something to do with shops being so selective why would I waste months teaching somebody who ends tattooing out their kitchen under cutting prices to make a quick buck for their next bag and tells everyone he scratches I apprenticed here under so and so

RE:eikon

yup, i agree 100% with shadow and dont feed the animals(you could use a shorter name though haha) a lot of artists quit getting involved with forums because every retard with a "gun" was calling them assholes because they wouldn't hand out free info. this artform requires so much more than people realize, and it shows when you dont care about what your doing. if im an asshole for not telling somebody i have never met in person how i tune my "gunz" than i would rather be an asshole, than help cut my own throat, or cause some unsuspecting person to get hep from a kitchen cowboy.
