Borg Machines

Posted by LittleJohn on 10/05/10

Anyone have any mileage on the Borg machines? Likes....dislikes? I saw them in a machinists magazine and they seem quite proud of em. Not a bad price...in fact the price almost scares me away...seems like if they were as solid as they claim, they would be soakin us for more than $295.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried or who uses these machines as daily drivers. Thanks

LittleJohn

The machine reminds me of a next gen....split frame with upright post on one side and the spring saddle post on the other..wide a-bar and wide springs..bullet shape front binding post and same looking contact screw....now please don't take me as bashing the machine,I'm just pointing out the similarities I see..I'd say if you like the look and want to try the machine go for it! They have a 30day money back guarantee so you can return it if you don't like it....let us know if you try it out and if you like it.....

I can see what you mean, the designs are very similar, and for about the same amount of ching. My Precision machines are from the 90's and they still run smooth and strong.

I also use a brass mako from National for my line work most of the time. I have been wanting to try some different machines...just to get an idea of the differences. I tried a rotary machine and it was alright, (swash drive copy) but I really do enjoy the coil machines.

Thanks again.

I met an artsit/rep for them at the 2010 Boston tattoo convention. I've heard of them before but I've never been able to see one and hold it to check it out. The artist was tattooing with one and I asked how he liked it. He said it's the most dependible machine he's had so far, used it for over a year day in and day out with no modifications or adjustments what so ever. They look and feel like a decent machine, really compact in size. Small and light

I've been using one for almost a year now. Very nice machines. Based on a combo of Martini and next gen. Super light as well. They run on low volts also. I definately suggest buying one. Mine has been great to me.
