Rebuilds

Posted by Dave Valderhaug on 08/23/10

Looking to rebuild some old frames, what parts do you guys recommend.

I was thinking either Eikon, Pulse or Sunskin. What do you all think?

I grabbed some Jerry Riegger coils through Kingpin not to long ago that are quite nice.

surreal customs they have this double coil and full coil that makes for a really smooth running machine

I have used pulse parts a few times to rebuild machines and never had a problem..it is on the pricier end but it's nice stuff..the other companies you mentioned are also quality stuff too..

depends really on what the old frames are> are they antiques that youd like to keep true to their original build, or just some random pieces you d like to mix and match. you can usually fine replacement parts straight from the manufacturer or builder for most frames post 2000. id say that would be the best way to go

Ahh, Steve Turner, one of the least publicized but best machine builders out there! Turnermade machines are a thing of beauty...

hands down steve turner is one of the top builders out there...period! i would say THE best but machines are so subjective to each individual artist...but when you buy a frame for $50-$70 and send it in for $125...$200 for just about the best tuned machine you can get...ive sent half a dozen or so to steve...not only is he a great guy but his machines are just solid. between me, my fellow artists and friends weve sent well over 30 frames to turner...always happy, always suprised at what neat tricks he does. i cant advertise enough how incredible his machines run.

do it!

I sent 4 machines to FK Irons paid 125 for the parts and 15 for shipping per each machine.

I rebuilt an old Dringenberg, Pulse Watson, Mickey Sharpz and a chinese frame that I had laying around. I love how they turned out.Pure quality parts.
