Dead Nuts Ink - Quality Handmade Machine Parts - Shameless Plug ;-]

Posted by TBD on 07/24/10

Hey,

I don't know if any of you have seen/heard/interacted with a company called Dead Nuts Ink. I have and I just wanted to post that it's a great place to get machine parts.

It's like Burger King, you can get anything to your size and specs. No Extra charges. No a big company with foregin made parts either. The dude is a machinist. Everything is handmade, and at mad decent prices

(Personally, I got 3 [2 shader, 1 liner @ 18ga front/20ga rear] sets of blue steel springs, cut to my specs and shipped to me across the US for just over $10 bucks. Then just recently bought a set of coils [clear coat heatshrink, 8 wrap shorty coils, with a 35 uf/25 V capacitor], an Arm-Bar and another set of blue steel springs for just around 40 bucks.)

I'm telling you, it's worth 5 minutes of your time to check out the website, or give the dude a call.

How are the coils?

Hahaha, I love that you can get snake skin coil covers. From snakes he killed himself. The prices are just a little on the high side, but not a rip off or anything.

The coils are bad ass. They were actually much shorter than what I had anticpated, so I had to use a yoke, but other than that - great. It turned my 20 brass frame into a pocket rocket. Fired right up after I tightened everything.

Well, honestly I would rather pay just a bit more and have a person answer the phone, "Hey TBD, how are ya doing?" than sit through a computer prompt and then get connected to an operator who has to look up all the info himself. Also, I like the fact all the product is machined himself, and everything is handmade.

Also, did you see the "Trinity" machine?

Also, he was talking to me last time I ordered about developing a machine that weighed less than FK Irons.

I saw that trinity thing. I don't think I would buy a machine off him, he doesn't tattoo so in my mind its taking a huge risk. Even if the thing is dope and runs great, I don't see how he could fully understand how a machine is supposed to run.

I'm a snob though.

Well, from talking with him. I gather that his brother is an artist somewhere, and that he was the practice dummy for his brother. I think he has done a few tattoos, but you are correct, he's not a full time artist.
