Paolini Machines

Posted by ectattoo on 02/17/10

Just wondering what everybody's thoughts were on Paolini Machines...I have been using the sacred heart, set up for lining, for almost 5 years now. It puts down crisp clean lines and works very well for me. I've just never heard anybody talk about them so I was just curious on what other people's thought were.

Paolini is junk, for the most part, IMO. I owned a Michaelangelo, and a paul rogers from Paolini. The quality is there it seems, but the overall functionality of the machines leaves alot to be desired. First off, and very important: The tube vices are horrible! They are built with a collar style insert, that is "secured"with a small set screw. After not long, you will be ripping the collar out with every tube, especially once the screw strips out... Very frustrating. Performance wise, I never found a niche for the micahelangelo, it just did not line or shade very well, and the geometry sucks! The Paul Rogers was a smooth black n grey machine for a year or so, until the vice made me just throw it in the machine graveyard, after stripping the machine of course. The coils are very nice, and both sets have been transplanted. My 2 cents.
