gray lining

Posted by blake on 02/08/10

anybody have any suggestions on a good ink or mix ratio for gray lining a big piece that is to end up free of outline when it's fully shaded/colored? been having problems getting consistent thin light lines that actually hold up. mine seem to go from to dark to dropping out altogether. any ideas?

The best results I have had, was with the lightest allaprima greywash. I find that by riding the tube with a shorter stroke on the machine you can get the most predictable results. I have also found that if the piece is in color you are better off wash lining in in the middle value of each local color.
