I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on S&S custom irons on ebay.

I own a liner and shader, they are alright for entry level stuff, the coils heat up real quick though. And in that price range you can buy Paco's gear for about the same money and his machines are solid. Or save up a little more cash and buy something you will use everyday not just put in a drawer.

I bought one of his white J-frames and it was an alright machine.

When I first recived it in the post there was coil issues,(overheating, voltage drop,) that I thoiught were contributed to the fact throughout the frame there was no metal on metal contact. I called SnS and talked to dude, he said" its a commom mistake in thinking that paint will not inhibit currant."

I filed the frame contact points, ie. core to frame, rear springshelf anyways, still didnt fix the issue. He sent me another set of coils, free of charge and the problem sorted itself out.

The CrowKnows hardware is the best thing bout that machine. The dipped coils look and sound cool, dont know how long the varnish or epoxy or whatever he uses will hold up with the A-bar smackin it constantly though.
