dotty B&G shading

Hi,

Recently my black and grey seems to be getting dottier and i can figure out why. I never really had this problem before so have no idea why it's happening and i am having trouble trying to get smooth shading. I'm using better quality needles, pre-made wash and better machines then i was using before.

Any ideas?

"needlemarks showing" dotty? might have something to do with the machines, slower running machine maybe?

i would guess your machines are running faster/harder hitting, your needles are a larger diameter or shorter taper length, or your hand movements have sped up. i personally like the dotty look in some styles of tattooing. try to run your shader with a little less volts, switch to bug pins or get a dedicated b/g machine.
