A longtime client approached me with an interesting concept, a collection of unconventional subject matter in homage to her grandmother, who was a switchboard operator for AT&T in the mid-1900s. I stepped pretty far outside my norm in order to attempt the best possible use of the subjects and vintage theme, incorporating a color portrait and some traditional tattoo elements. Completing the surreal combination of nostalgic elements are a replica of an old handwritten note, and a stamp of the old AT&T logo.
