All of the tattoos seen here besides the rotten flesh background/filler stuff were pre-existing. The client's idea was to try to make his arm look like it was rotten, and to have it be a trompe l'oeil 'fool the eye' effect by tattooing this rotting effect over parts of the existing tattoo work, thus making the rotting look more believable.
